I have in previous posts blogged about how fast my daughter Maeve learns things – words, concepts, skills – and after 7 years she still amazes me in this manner. Not only has she taken to Horse riding with some elan her English skills still knock me for six from time to time – like tonight when I asked her to get my Google Nexus tablet for me. Being the good girl she is she did – but it was turned on and she was accessing Youtube. “There you are dad” she says “I hope you don’t mind me hacking it ” she continues … “Hacking it” … right word and right context …. my you are learning – fast.

Not too sure whether to scold or praise her.

Maeve is now a smart, bright and bubbly seven year old and time in its usual fashion is whizzing buy at what seems an ever faster rate. Maeve for the last few months has taken up a hobby and one popular among “the girls” – that of horse riding. Fortunately near is a a great little horse riding school called the Kilcrea Equestrian Centre ( https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kilcrea-Equestrian-Centre/171893226216625 ) .

Cod with Potato Mash & Chives with sweetcorn chives – the crab was just the spur at the moment.

Coming back to Donabate from Swords Co Dublin around 14:00 when just before Newbridge demesne there was a police diversion, loads of blue flashing lights redirecting traffic down to the Turvey road.

A couple of hours later I came across this http://www.rte.ie/news/2014/1010/651435-dublin-donabate-rta/ – which was backed up from chatter down the local supermarket talking about how the Golf Club (which one there are a number here) has been robbed and in the get-away the driver plowed into an oncoming car whilst overtaking some others. Apparently there is a lot of Damage. Both Drivers had to be cut out of their respective cars … a lady had 2 broken legs was hospitalized along-side a baby or young girl. The “Get Away Driver” may have had at least one leg amputated.

Interesting times indeed in rural Ireland.

Today is “accounts” day – its the day where as a contractor I go through my “in box” of bills, accounts etc and do everything that’s necessary to enable my accountant to perform their arcane magic and keep the collector general happy. Anyway you can imagine my surprise where secreted among the pile of bills I discovered this:

Made me smile a lot.
